With the theme "Towards a Greener Vision, Towards a Greener Vision" Tumanyan Secondary School warmly hosted the Teach For Armenia educational foundation, local community members, and esteemed guests. Leading this transformative project were Vard and Susanna, respected Teacher-Leaders from Teach For Armenia.
Following the schedule, the event kicked off in the schoolyard, where a commemorative pantheon stood as a joint effort of students and the community. This structure pays tribute to fallen Tumanyan school students and community members during the recent war.
The event began with the unveiling of the pantheon, accompanied by speeches and musical performances by students from different classes. Families of the fallen were also part of the event, having contributed to the pantheon's construction and planting of memorial trees.
While the main goal was to honor fallen soldiers, the park also embodies the values that Teacher-Leaders Vard and Susanna instilled in Tumanyan School students - highlighting the importance of environmental care within the school and community.
The second part of the event focused on environmental conservation, with guests getting introduced to the newly established eco-room and eco-corridor.
We've looked forward to this day since our involvement in the community through Teach For Armenia. Our actions were planned carefully to bring us here. Today, our dream's realization is finally within reach. This achievement is thanks to our students and colleagues

During this phase, students shared the story of the dream room's beginning and presented their work within the eco-room. The space thrived with various plants and student-made crafts. A presentation showcased their achievements, reflecting the refreshed atmosphere of the school and community.
After Teach For Armenia's Teacher Leaders arrived, things changed for us. We became more engaged and community-focused. We collectively decided to establish the eco-room. We also took part in various programs, showcasing our school and efforts. We achieved goals like getting recycling bins, creating the park, and fixing a school corridor. Our Teacher-Leaders guided us every step of the way. Our class quality improved, strengthening our minds and activities. Mentors encouraged curiosity, love, and unity

The eco-room transformed into a versatile space for learning and enjoyment, followed by the renewal of the eco-corridor - a gathering spot for students.
Through our actions, we demonstrated that potential is within all of us. By putting it into various projects, students tapped into their own potential

The final phase took place in the eco-corridor, where students hosted a master class on paper recycling and planting flowers. Paper recycling, a favorite activity within the eco club, was demonstrated. Students even made event invitations from recycled paper. Attendees learned about the recycling process and received notebooks to share thoughts about the eco team. Students then showed proper flower potting techniques, reflecting their care for plants and explaining plant care and pot crafting.
Vard changed our routines, inspiring urban improvement and selfless deeds. We planted trees and discovered the joy of teacher-student interactions. We're grateful to Teach For Armenia for bringing her to Tumanyan School
The entire project and event resonated, reflecting students' unity and dedication to the eco club. The initiative instilled lasting values, improving community life and tapping into its potential.
On August 10th, I was able to witness what Teach For Armenia has done for the students all over Armenia by visiting Shenavan Basic School in the mountains of Lori.
