Teach For Armenia

Not a charity. A duty.

Not a job. A national calling.

Teach For Armenia—now part of Armenia Education Initiative (AEI)—is Armenia's flagship Two-Year National Service Program in Education. As the 36th partner of the global Teach For All network, we stand alongside nations that treat education not as a sector, but as a strategic pillar of national survival and renewal.

This program is for those who believe that serving Armenia means serving where the country needs you most. After more than a decade of impact, we are no longer asking whether change is possible. We are bringing together the people who will make it inevitable. We are building a disciplined, values-driven corps of teacher-leaders who understand that classrooms are frontlines, and that nation-building begins with children.

A Comprehensive Ecosystem of Educational Programs

Six interconnected programs building Armenia's future through education, leadership, and innovation.

Why National Service in Education

Nations are built by people who show up where and when it's hardest.

Armenia faces deep educational inequality—between rural and urban communities, between opportunity and neglect. These gaps are not accidental. And they will not close without deliberate service.

The Teach For Armenia National Service Program exists because education is not a side issue—it is national infrastructure. Who teaches our children determines who leads our country.

What You Commit To

  • Two years of full-time service in a high-need public school
  • Teaching, mentoring, and leading in under-resourced communities
  • Living alongside the people you serve
  • Upholding excellence, discipline, and responsibility
  • Preparing not just students—but yourself—for lifelong leadership

This is not volunteering. This is service with consequences.

What You Become

By the end of two years, Teacher-Leaders emerge with:

  • Proven leadership under pressure
  • Deep understanding of Armenia's systemic challenges and opportunities
  • Professional teaching credentials
  • A lifelong obligation to act

You leave with more than experience. You leave with earned authority.

Impact That Lasts

But the real impact is harder to measure:

Communities re-engaging with schools.

Children daring to imagine futures of choice.

A growing corps of Armenians who have served—and will lead.

Two years of service taught me more about leadership than any degree ever could. You don't just teach—you become part of a community, part of a movement, part of Armenia's future.
